If distinguished by the material of the board, currently the most commonly used types in the board market are solid wood board and artificial board. According to the production process, artificial boards can be divided into solid boards, plywood, fiberboard, decorative panels, fireproof boards, and so on. Several varieties of wooden boards:
1. Solid wood board. Solid wood boards are made from intact wood. It has characteristics such as durability, environmental friendliness, and naturalness. Its surface texture is very natural, and its retail price is relatively high. Therefore, it is usually used for many floors and furniture. When selecting solid wood boards, it is important to learn to examine their surface. High quality solid wood boards are sliced after drying, degreasing, and other processes, so that their surface will not show signs of decay, dead knots, insect holes, cracks, and other phenomena.
2. Finger board. It can also be referred to as integrated board, integrated material, or finger joint material. It is mainly made by splicing small pieces of deeply processed solid wood similar to "fingers", with serrated interfaces between the boards, which are connected together like ten fingers, so it is called a finger joint board. Due to the natural cross bonding ability between the raw wood strips, there is no need to use excessive adhesive. The biggest feature of the finger board is its extremely high natural environmental friendliness. And it is very easy to process, capable of cutting, drilling, sawing, and forming. But its biggest drawback is that it is very prone to deformation and cracking.
3. Clamping plate. Plywood is also known as plywood, commonly known as fine core board in the board industry. It is mainly made of three or multiple layers of one millimeter thick veneer or thin plate adhesive hot pressing. It is currently a widely used handmade furniture material in the board market. Plywood can be divided into six categories based on thickness: 3cm board, 5cm board, 9mm board, 12mm board, 15mm board, and 18mm board. Its structure has excellent strength and is very stable. Because it contains a large amount of glue, edge sealing should be done well during construction to prevent pollution. When choosing, it is important to observe its wood grain, glossiness, and smoothness. Also pay attention to whether the plywood is blistered and unglued, whether the gaps in the core board are too large, whether the panel color is consistent, and whether there are cracks, insect holes, bumps, stains, defects, and other phenomena.
